A brief glimpse...
Fun Fact: The first time I was on the news I was 8-years-old. I assisted in a report about the local school lunch menu. I've been trying to get back in the news business ever since.
My name is Raisa Nicole Tillis, I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and secretly I think that's my favorite fact about myself. From around the time I was five I had a large interest in cameras and later that developed into a passion for performing. While in high school I was very active in my theatre program. I loved being on stage and enjoyed entertaining others. When the school introduced a new media program I learned a lot about filming and editing. I decided to pursue a path in journalism because it would allow me a space where I could entertain, inform, meet new people, film and edit. I began attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2011 and graduated May, 23, 2015. While attending UT' I was able to learn more about journalism and myself. I was able to intern with The Austin Socialite as an editorial intern. When my first blog was published it was a surreal feeling. I had never had my writing displayed for the masses to see. I love that I chose this field because I get to inform and entertain audiences with the stories I develop. It is a joy to learn about others, and gain new experiences as a journalist. While visiting this site you can view stories about some of the people and places I learned about while in Austin and my work for The Austin Socialite.
