What's a nice relaxing summer day without everyone's favorite meal: brunch? Austin is the best place to grab a late morning bite and chill out with coworkers, friends or even solo.
Two of the best spots in the city to down cheap mimosas, and great food on the weekends are located on the lovely West 6th Street.
219 West serves a massive brunch buffet that will blow your mind on Sundays from 11am to 3pm. The $15 buffet features tasty tacos and spiked (yes, spiked) cereal for a more adult take on some of your morning time faves. They also have $1 by-the-glass mimosas or a pitcher for just $8.
But if you're looking for something a little less overwhelming than a bottomless buffet, then head right down the street to Z' Tejas Southwestern Grill. Their extensive brunch menu has something for everyone from yummy Tex-Mex takes on breakfast to burgers and salads. The most mouthwatering items on the brunch menu are the Grilled Shrimp and Guacamole Tostada Bites. They're so delicious you'll have to get three orders of them - one for the table, one for you, and one to go.
For a more authentic Austin brunch experience, there is Cenote, nestled on the corner of East Ceasar Chavez and Edina Street. Here you have access to $3 mimosas or their taste bud awakening House-Made Ice Chai Tea, along with a tempting variety of other cafe treats and eats. Aaron Koehler, a Cenote first-timer, described it as "eclectic and everything you think an Austin brunch spot should be." And get this! Cenote serves brunch-like items every weekday from 7am to 4pm and 8am to 4pm on the weekends.
These brunch hot spots are all so delicious you might want to try brunch hopping, which is the daytime equivalent to bar hopping, but even better because there's bacon involved.
